On the Cadence of Cities at Dawn.
We followed our team through four cities before sunrise, photographing the rhythm of footsteps on wet concrete. What we found wasn't quiet — it was loud, deliberate, and unmistakably human.
It is 4:47am in Lisbon when we start. The cobblestones are still wet from the previous night's rain and the streetlamps throw long yellow rectangles across the Rua Augusta. Our photographer is wearing the prototype Runner 03 — bone leather, red foxing tape, charcoal sole — and her footsteps are the only metronome on the block.
The fourth drop from STRIDE is built on a simple premise: the pavement is the stage. Everything else — color, weight, silhouette — is amplification. We are not making shoes for a season. We are making shoes for a 6am walk to the bakery, for the commute between studios, for the long, lonely block after a long, loud night.

The pavement is the stage. Everything else is amplification.
Across the next four days we shot in Lisbon, Marseille, Antwerp and Berlin. The shoes changed twice — bone and red, blue and yellow — but the cadence didn't. Some pace belongs to the city; some belongs to the person. We tried to listen to where one becomes the other.
What follows is a fragmentary record: ten frames, four cities, one drop. We've printed the full series in the autumn issue of the STRIDE Quarterly. Subscribers get it first.

There is a moment, somewhere between the third lamppost and the corner café, when you stop hearing your own footsteps. They become the city. They become the bass note under the wheels of the first tram. They become the rhythm that the rest of the day is going to march to.
That's what we're designing for.
